A Note from the Commander
Dear AWANA Club Parent,
Raising children in today's society requires a great commitment on the part of every parent: a commitment to provide the best possible childhood experiences for them in education, in moral and spiritual training, in relationships with their peers, and in relationships with adults as role models. I believe that AWANA can help you provide your children with necessities through adult-directed games, Scripture memorization and Bible teaching.
Our goals in AWANA are "to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him." These goals reflect the direction of 2Timothy 2:15: "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." With your commitment and support, these goals are achievable.
Thanks for bringing your child(ren) to our club for the 2006-2007 year. We hope this handbook will answer many of your questions regarding AWANA. The handbook includes a schedule for the year and a list of AWANA leaders so that you can contact your child(ren)'s leader during the week.
Please feel free to visit us on a club night to see our club in action. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.
AWANA commander,
Steve Derstine
