What's Up With Youth?

The Youth Ministry Team is busy making final arrangements for several opportunities for our Junior High, Senior High and College and Career groups to connect with God, each other and reach out to serve in Christ's name.

Dates to put on your calendar: If you don't see an event then we don't have youth group that night. We will no longer be having youth group every Sunday night in order to do some outings and unique events.

NOVEMBER

Nov 9 – AWANA
Nov 13 – Y outh Group – 6 – 8 p.m. Please bring a $2 - $5 donation. We will be going to Redner’s to purchase items for a Thanksgiving basket that we will be donating to a needy family in our community. If any parents were willing to help with this field trip we would be very grateful.
Nov. 16 – AWANA
Nov. 20 – Youth Group 6 – 8 p.m.
Nov 27 – NO Youth Group – Thanksgiving weekend.
Nov 30 – AWANA

DECEMBER

Dec. 4 – Parent’s Meeting directly after church to discuss Middle School trip to Youthquake in Bethlehem in February and the Mission’s Trip to Big Creek in Kentucky this summer.Youth Group 6 – 8 p.m. … Names for the Annual Christmas exchange will be given out. Let Barb know if you plan to participate.
Dec. 10 – Christmas Caroling and Youth Group Party – details to be announced. We will need cookies and snacks donated and parents and siblings willing to join us in bringing some Christmas cheer to our community and shut ins. Parents and siblings are invited.
Dec. 11 – Church Christmas Play. Please come to our morning service and be blessed by the presentation. Youth Group 6 – 8
Dec. 14 – AWANA
Dec. 18 – Youth Group 6 – 8 p.m. – MOVIE Night
Dec. 23 – Christmas Service
Dec. 25 – Christmas Day – NO Youth Group

We are working on getting these trips arranged. Please pray about going. We will raise some money for these expense but students are expected to make a financial contribution. That is part of your commitment to go. Students will also be expected to serve in our church and community to be eligible to attend these trips.

February 10-12, 2012 - Junior High Youth Quake - Conference in Allentown PA This event is open ONLY to students in grades 6 - 9. Summer Missions Trip

When: July 21 – 29, 2012

Where: Big Creek Missions is a mission center in Bear Branch, Kentucky dedicated to sharing the love of Christ.

Cost: $300 per attendee. This includes transportation, housing, meals once we get to Kentucky, speakers and worship time.

Deadline to sign up: Dec. 11, 2011 We need to register to hold our space so a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required by Dec. 11 to show your commitment to attending.

What to bring: Sleeping bags or bedding, work clothes. Bibles, extra money for snacks and meals traveling to and from Kentucky (all meals are included once we get to Big Creek), journal, toiletries, towels,

What we need from parents: Adults willing to pray, chaperone and drive, fundraising suggestions and someone to head up fundraisers, a bookkeeper to collect fees and keep track of donations.

Student’s Requirements: Students are required to serve in and around our Church and community as well as attend Church, Sunday School, AWANA and Youth Group to prepare for this trip. We will be doing some special studies to prepare our hearts and minds to serve Christ and ask Him to bless our efforts.
