It's real easy. If you are willing to believe and do each of the following 5 steps, you are ready and will enter into a relationship with God that is real and personal.
1.) Believe that God loves you (John 3:16).
2.) Believe that only God's Word is perfect since it was inspired by God who is perfect (Psalm 19:7, 2 Timothy 3:16).
3.) Admit that you've sinned against God (Romans 3:23)
4.) Believe that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die on a cross so that you could be set free from your sin (John 8:36, Romans 5:8).
5.) Ask Jesus, who conquered death, to forgive you of all your sins and ask Him to be your personal Savior (1 John 1:9, Romans 5:8).
If your not really sure what to say to God, you can pray something like this:
Dear God, I believe the Bible is true. I believe that Jesus came and died on the cross so that I could be set free from my sin. I've messed up but I believe you still love me anyway. I'm hopeless without you. I'm sorry for all the sins I've done so please forgive me and be my Personal Savior.
