What’s happening at Grace and where can I help?

Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church. Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

Sunday School Opportunities

Beginning at 9:00 am each Sunday we offer several Sunday School classes for you to be involved in. We have women’s, men’s, youth, children, a senior adult class, nursery, and junior church.

Children’s Ministry

Your children are important to us, we have recently updated our children’s area by installing a state of the art check in. If you are new please be prepared to supply some information to help us keep your children safe. Each Sunday morning from 9 am to 10 am, our children are taught by dedicated teachers to connect children to Christ and disciple them to know Him, worship Him, trust Him and obey Him and provide a safe, fun and loving environment in which children can grow. They are taught age appropriate and culturally relevant, biblically sound lessons and also share the gospel weekly, including showing Christ’s love for children in word and deed.

Small Groups

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held in member homes and on campus. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve people. At a time designated by your group leader, you can sign up for a small group study or just get more info by clicking here. Youth Ministry

Each Sunday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, teens grades 6th through 12th get to participate in their own ministry. This ministry will lovingly challenge those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to come to faith in Him and to encourage Christian teenagers to worship, witness, serve, love and live for God with all their hearts in a safe environment where teens can interact with their peers.

Women’s Group

Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men’s Group

Our men’s group is developed to equip and nurture men to cultivate Christ-like leaders for home, church, workplace and community. The group holds monthly men’s breakfast with bible study, pray for one another, encourage one another to use spiritual gifts, and establish accountability relationship to help and support one another.

God’s Helping Hands Outlet

Grace Bible Church ministers to the spiritual and material needs of our community through God’s Helping Hands Outlet. This ministry primarily provides men’s, women’s and children’s clothing to those in need in our community. The outlet is open to the public every Wednesday from 10 AM to 1 PM. The primary mission of this ministry is to lead clients to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through the witness and testimonies, and secondly, by being Christ’s hands and feet in meeting their material needs.  Everything at God’s Helping Hands Outlet is free.

Outreach Task Team

Our Outreach Task Team shows God’s love by being His ambassadors to the community.  Their mission is to be vessels God uses to put believers out into our community to show God’s love in a Christ like manner. Through a number of outreach events such as the Hamburg-er Festival in Hamburg and Heritage Days in Orwigsburg and other special events, it is our hope and prayer to plant the seed of the Gospel in those seeking the truth and to someday be able to worship with them.

Global Missions

Grace Church actively participates in world-wide, Christ-exalting missionary endeavors through missionaries and agencies/organizations that are in agreement with the doctrinal statement of the church.  The Missions Team is responsible for oversight of all mission’s activities which are a function of the church. Grace Bible Church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. The missions Grace Bible Church supports are African Inland Mission (AIM), Assoc. of Baptist for World Evangelism (ABWE), BCM International, Centers for Apologetics Research (CFAR), Friends of Israel (FIO), Global Mission of South America (GMSA), Hebrew Christian Fellowship (HCF), and Transworld Radio (TWR). Some local missions we support are Carenet of Schuylkill County, Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), and York Teen Haven. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Worship Team

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Greeters

The Greeters at our church fills a very important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, and providing direction. The Greeters are a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Grace Keepers

The Grace Keepers team is our security team that ensures the safety of the building during services by setting up surveillance cameras, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. They make sure children are safe by using modern technology to check them in and out of childcare during church, so that they are safe will only release the child to the person issued the fob.

Audio-Visual Team

Using the latest technology to share the message with those outside of the church.

Communications Team

The Communication Team intentionally and strategically create, organize, plan and implement effective communication messages for our congregation and community to reach multiple generations for God’s glory. This team connects with new people to help them take next steps to learn more about Grace Church and get involved, and grow in their faith. They also work with GBC ministry groups to help meet their communication needs so they can more effectively minister to our communities. Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Deaconess Ministry

The Deaconess assist the Pastor by working with the Deacons in ministering to the needs of the overall congregation – specifically to women, children, elderly, and those in distress – with loving kindness and sympathy. These are also responsible for the preparation and setting up of Communion on the first Sunday of each month and help prepare female baptismal candidates for baptism.
