  1. The failure of God’s people to distinguish right from wrong (2:17)

  2. People are saying all who do evil are good in the eyes of

the  Lord  (17)

  1. People are saying that God is pleased with this  (17)
  2. People are denying God’s justice  (17)
  3. People are saying harsh things against the Lord  (3:13)
  4. They have said that serving the Lord is a waste of time  (14)
  5. They are calling the arrogant blessed  (15)



  1. The response of the Lord to His people who fail to distinguish

right from wrong  (3:1-5, 16-18)


  1. To remind us of the coming of the Lord  (1)
  2. To warn of the coming judgment  (2)
  3. To remind us that all wrong thinking and behavior will be

corrected  (2-3)

  1. To predict the days when fellowship with God can be

restored  (3-4)

  1. However, judgment for wrong must be carried out  (5)
  2. Proper instruction will be given  (16)
  3. To remind us of our special relationship with Him  (17)



  1. The results of God’s actions toward His people who cannot

tell right from wrong  (18)
